Sandwiches for The Door is Open

posted Jan 27, 2017, 11:26 AM by Peter Horner   [ updated Jan 27, 2017, 11:27 AM ]

Sandwiches for the Door is Open

In the past, we have asked the Grade 7 class and parents to earn some volunteer hours by making sandwiches or baked goods in their own home for the mission. Every other week, we will bring the sandwiches to the mission. This is a great opportunity for you to spend 30 minutes every other week with your child(ren) to not only fulfill volunteer hours, but to extend the fruits of the Spirit in a very practical and hopefully, long-term manner. The process is as follows:
  • Drop-offs will be every other Wednesday morning in a bin in the foyer between 8:45 – 9:00 am.
  • Do not bring the sandwiches into the classroom. Someone will be picking up the sandwiches at 9 am to deliver them.
  • Make the sandwiches or baked goods in your kitchen. Consider making 1-2 loaves of sandwiches.
  • Sandwiches can be: any assorted meats, egg salad, etc. Lettuce, cheese and mustard are appreciated.
  • You do NOT need to cut the sandwiches or wrap them individually. Just place them back into the loaf bag and seal the bag.

Parent Participation Program

posted Aug 28, 2015, 5:46 PM by Peter Horner   [ updated Jun 29, 2016, 5:43 PM ]

Dear HTS Families,

Welcome to the start of a new school year! Our school Parent Participation Program (PPP) provides a valuable contribution to the safety and successful operation of many of our school social events, fundraisers, Hot Lunches and the Crossing Guard program. Volunteering is a great way for your family to get to know our school community.

In June and July you would have received an email from our PPP Coordinator confirming your PPP assigned volunteer activity or event(s). If you have not received this email, please contact Lisa Lau at lisa@lau.com.

Assigned schedules for Crossing Guard and Yard Duty have been scheduled and emailed to those volunteers:
  • If you have any questions concerning Crossing Guard, please email Zita Panzetta at panzetta@shaw.ca.
  • If you have any questions concerning Yard Duty, please email Tara Corcoran at tara.corcoran@me.com.

Thank you in advance for your time and talent and we look forward to another successful school year!

        Lisa Lau – PPP Coordinator
Zita Panzetta – PPP Assistant Coordinator
