North Shore Primary Speech Arts Competition

Dates:  January 21st - 25th, 2018
Location:  St. Pius X Elementary (1150 Mount Seymour Rd)

  • Parents are responsible for driving their children to and from the competition.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before your child’s start time as times are approximate.
  • Children are dressed in full uniform and arrive well-groomed (sweaters, shiny shoes and tidy hair), unless they are performing a duologue, in which case they should be dressed in their costumes and bring their props with them.
  • Photography and videotaping will be allowed as long as it is discreet (no flash or sounds).
  • We would also like to remind you that toddlers are strongly discouraged from attending the festival.  If this is absolutely not possible, it is crucial that non-school aged children be able to remain quiet for up to an hour.

St. Pius would appreciate nonperishable food donations for the Food Bank as a donation.

There will be a box labeled Holy Trinity containing the original poetry books if your child chose a poem from the school library.  There will not be a teacher from our school present every day.  You are responsible for finding your child’s book/poem for your child to present to the adjudicator.  Please return the book to the box after your child’s performance, as other children may need this book.  Every student’s poem should be clearly marked.  You must bring the original book to the competition if your child’s poem is from an outside source.
